Dalton SILKSHC™ hydrogenated polydecene (INCI: hydrogenated polydecene, CAS: 68037‑01‑4) is a high-purity synthetic hydrocarbon fluid obtained through α-olefin polymerization, hydrogenation, and isomerization refining. It possesses a unique long carbon branch comb-shaped molecular structure and offers two viscosity specifications of 450 and 550. The product is not derived from minerals and does not contain volatile petroleum hydrocarbons, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, or heavy metals. It has passed the CIR safety assessment and has excellent color, almost no odor, and outstanding oxidative and photochemical stability in both acidic and alkaline environments.
It can form a mesh-like breathable protective film on the skin surface, achieving a high-end silky skin sensation without clogging pores or leaving sticky residues, with high refractive gloss. It is not only a high-performance moisturizer but also can act as a shine enhancer and functional solvent. It has excellent wetting and solubilization capabilities for pigments and sunscreens, and is suitable for sensitive skin, baby care, and mucous membrane contact products. It is widely used in skincare, sun protection, makeup, and hair care formulas, with the maximum addition for leave-on products reaching 88.25%. It can be freely compounded with the six skin sensation platforms and two technical modules of Dalton's raw materials to provide a high-quality solution for formulae designers to create a mineral oil-free high-end texture.
